Reports of archaeological investigations undertaken by Cardiff Archaeology are deposited with the regional Historic Environment Record ensuring continued public access to information about the heritage of South Wales.

Archaeological investigation may arise in response to development which threatens the archaeological resource, as part of the planning process and/or development plan policy, as part of an Environmental Assessment or outside the planning process .

Monitoring and recording of groundworks during the development and/or the recording of historic structures may be needed in order to fulfil planning conditions relating to the archaeology and history of the site.
